Loans for ethnic women in Ba Vi Economic Development District, Hanoi City
According to the cooperation agreement between VietED MFI and the Dutch MVM Organization on developing and supporting women in Vietnam’s ethnic regions to develop economically and improve living standards. On July 31, 2024, representatives of MNM organization visited and worked at the implementation site of the VietED Microfinance Project Program in Ba Vi district, Hanoi City.
During the visit, there were representatives of the VietED Fund Board of Directors, Ms. Dinh Thi Anh Tuyet, Chairwoman of the Fund Management Board and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Member of the Board of Directors, Director of VietED Microfinance Program, VietED Ba Branch staff. Because, welcoming representatives of the MVM Foundation of the Netherlands were Mr. and Mrs. Kromhof Alice Monique – Chairman of the MVM Foundation, as well as family members Mr. Bakker Arijan Johan, son Bakker Dirk Willem, daughter Bakker Jutha Marit. During the working trip, the whole group visited VietED MFI’s customers:
Ms. Nguyen Van Anh’s family in Tay Dang Town uses loan capital to raise geese, ducks and cows. She has been a customer with VietED MFI for many years, with 4.5 full and on-time repayment cycles. Ms. Thu and her husband are very interested in taking out loans at VietED MFI. They are very active in production labor and side jobs, the husband is a construction worker, and the wife is a hairdresser at home to have a source of income to repay the loan. and save money for their children’s education, and plan to repair the house in the next few years to have a better life.
Ms. Bui Thi Thu’s family lives in Phu Xuyen village – Phu Chau commune, using loans for agricultural and livestock activities as the main source of income. Customers all share that installment loans help them have better financial plans and wish to continue being loan members of the Fund.
Next, the delegation directly attended a group meeting and disbursed funds at the Ba Vi branch office.
Following the time of visiting and attending activities in Ba Vi, the delegation moved to Hanoi and visited VietED’s Project activities in Giang Bien and Long Bien with 02 Agricultural Experiences and a traditional activity:
Visit to introduce local history and agricultural processes;
Participate in activities such as weeding, planting, harvesting or caring for vegetables and flowers (depending on the season);
Farmers provide information on how to grow and care for vegetables and flowers and the process of harvesting, processing and packaging agricultural products;
Directly experience and listen to stories about traditional activities: making banh duc, making sweet soup, making hammocks with the farmer girls.
At the end of the visit to the areas and projects VietED is implementing, the visiting members were very impressed with the practical activities as well as the regional culture of Vietnam.
